A Day To Deepen Your Spiritual Journey

You might know it as Halloween. However, that is only a contraction of the phrase All Hallow’s Even.

The reason for the celebration back in the 17th century in Scotland was an ancient Celtic tradition that taught that the night of the 31st of October, the veil between the mortal world and the spirit one is the thinnest.

If we understand that, back then, “hallow” was used as a noun and it meant a saint or a holy person, the phrase “All Hallow’s Even” makes a lot of sense. Though, beyond that, it uncovers a power of this celebration that we tend to overlook.

When we embark on the spiritual journey of being our best version, we start a path to remember who we really are and reconnect to the hallow within. In the process, we go deep into foundational questions searching for answers that have faded, maybe because we fell in the rabbit hole of fitting in or because we have forgotten the memory of premortal life.

Either way, it’s the feeble echo of a knowing of earlier experiences when we felt complete, connected, and unrestricted, which fuels our search.

This search is highly supported at this point in time. Each passing minute of the night of the 31st makes the veil that is blocking us from remembering our spiritual preexistence thinner. As time goes by and we get closer to November 1st (111), we become closer to the holy within. Therefore, the reconnection between the limited earthling feeling and the awakened-expanded self gets easier.

On Halloween day, the effort we have to make to calm the mind and open space for the wiser self to come to our consciousness is less. The sense of belonging and connection with everyone and everything flows smoothly and almost effortlessly, enhances our happiness, increases our enjoyment of life, and lights up our everyday experience.

But it doesn’t stop there. As mentioned before, the sequence of numbers that November 1st represents –111, is commonly known as a way for our guides (god, angels, or however you feel comfortable referring to higher guidance) to get our attention and communicate with us. When they show up in our lives, this triplet of numbers comes loaded with equality energy that invites you to go deeper.

Halloween is then a reconnection ignition day. Followed by November 1st, it becomes the perfect moment to reflect on your path and potentiate harmony and balance in your life. It’s a favourable occasion to ask the bold questions that can push you further, those that have your life at a breaking point, or have been with you for long and seem to need a more direct connection with higher wisdom.

This time is also when we experience the change of the seasons. In the northern hemisphere, we go from the harvest months’ aliveness to the stillness of the cold winter. On the other side, the southern hemisphere is reborn in the spring and welcomes summer’s fire.

Either way, the theme of cycles, death and rebirth is manifested all around us. Therefore, as one of the main spiritual Halloween components, we are invited to observe and appreciate our own cycles within ourselves, ignite our rebirth, and let go of what has served its purpose.

So, go back to your tools of reconnection. Calm the mind, flow with your body, journal, and get deeper into your questions about who you really are, what you enjoy, what the next step is, etc. Take advantage of the energetic shift that is happening, and it’s already calling you to align yourself with the way you were initially inspired to show up in the world.

Trick or treat and have fun, enjoy the costumes and the makeup, laugh and rejoice inside. But don’t forget this Halloween to be still and know, the hallow within is eager for you to deepen the journey to your authentic you.
